Skived Heat Sinks

One-piece construction with zero fin-to-base interface.

Skived heat sinks are produced by shaving fins directly from a solid billet of copper or aluminium. Because the fins are integral to the base, there is no bonded joint — and no interface thermal resistance — between fin and spreader.

Fine-pitch skived fins
Fine-pitch skived fins

Thin, closely spaced fins shaved directly from a solid copper or aluminium billet.

One-piece heat sink
One-piece heat sink

Fins and base are a single piece of metal — uninterrupted heat transfer from base to fin tip.

Custom base geometries
Custom base geometries

Skived fin stacks on machined bases sized and stepped to your component footprint.

One-piece build

Fins are skived from the base — no epoxy, no braze, no interface.

Very fine fin pitch

Thin, closely spaced fins deliver a large surface area in a compact footprint.

Excellent forced-air performance

High effective area with low base-to-fin resistance.

Copper or aluminium billet

Copper for maximum spreading, aluminium for weight and cost.

Robust construction

No bonded joints to fatigue or delaminate over life.

Custom base geometry

Skived fins on shaped or stepped bases to match your enclosure.

Key benefits

  • Zero fin-to-base thermal resistance
  • Fine fin pitch and high fin count
  • Copper or aluminium construction
  • Durable, single-piece design
